ABOUT HAPCO

Distinguished by our Unrelenting Passion for Lawn & Garden Tractors

From Childhood Passion to Trusted Business

Brandon Pfeiffer started Hapco Parts due to his unrelenting passion for collecting and restoring John Deere lawn and garden tractors. The foundation of this operation traces back to his childhood.

As a young boy, Brandon spent weekends and summers at his Grandma Pfeiffer’s house, next door to his Uncle Arnold’s farm. He was exploring the farm when he wasn’t working in Grandma’s garden. He wasn’t old enough to operate any of the big tractors, so Uncle Arnold started him out using a John Deere model 112 and a model 212. He would have him mow the lawn and do odd jobs around the farm. Operating the garden tractor made him feel like he was a farmer. Uncle Arnold would sometimes let him take the model 212 over to Grandma’s to work in the garden. Brandon began to think that he needed a garden tractor of his own.

Brandon’s Uncle Dwight Pfeiffer giving him a ride on Uncle Arnold’s brand new 112.

It Started With a Dream…

He saved money made from gleaning corn, selling Indian corn, growing soybeans on the corners of the fields, helping Uncle Arnold around the farm, collecting aluminum cans, and mowing his great-grandfather “Pop’s” yard. He used these combined savings to purchase his own garden tractor.

Night after night, he would lie in bed and look over the John Deere garden tractor brochures he picked up from Stephan’s Implement. The garden tractor he wanted was a model 400. The necessary accessories would be a Cozy Cab, Brinly plow, disk, cultivator, and a one-row planter. With this new equipment, he could increase the size of their garden. He could mow Grandma Pfeiffer’s and Pop’s lawn when he wasn’t working in the garden.  It was a great plan!  The only flaw in this masterpiece idea was that he could never save enough money to buy the garden tractor of his dreams.

From Hobby To Passion…

Years later, during the summer of his junior year at Purdue University, he purchased a 1966 model 110 from his mother’s neighbor. After acquiring this lawn and garden tractor, he began to build a passion for collecting. Consequently, his collection now consists of 100 various brands of lawn and garden tractors, many attachments, and a plethora of literature.

One of the greatest joys of collecting is restoring what you have acquired. When Brandon began his first restoration project, he was disappointed that many of the parts were no longer available or not made to the original specs. He assumed there were other lawn and garden tractor collectors with this problem, leading to his initiative to start HAPCO Parts. Our mission is to provide our customers with the most authentic reproduction of John Deere lawn and garden tractor parts available. By achieving this, we can ensure that your restoration projects look showroom new.
